VARIATION
1. Insert a new
subparagraph (b) in paragraph 5.1.2 Apprentices, of clause 5, Payments of the
award published 19 July 2002 (335 I.G 266), and insert in lieu thereof the
following:
5.1.2 Apprentices
(b) An adult
apprentice is a person who at age 21 years or older, commences an
apprenticeship with the RTA.
An adult apprentice shall be paid the greater of the:
4th year apprentice rate for the duration of the
apprenticeship; or
the rate of pay applicable to the substantive position
that the Adult Apprentice held with the RTA immediately prior to the
commencement of the apprenticeship.
2. This
variation shall take effect from the first full pay period commencing on or
after 3 July 2003.
