VARIATION

 

1.          Delete paragraph 5.2.2 High Risk Money of subclause 5.2 Allowances, of clause 5, Payments of cause 1, Arrangement of the award published 19 July 2002 (335 I.G 266), and insert in lieu thereof the following:

 

5.2.2. Lead Paint Removal Allowance

 

2.          Delete paragraph 2 of subclause 5.2 Allowances, of clause 5, Payments, and insert in lieu thereof the following:

 

5.2.2       Lead Paint Removal Allowance

 

Staff will be paid:

 

On an Hourly basis, as set out in Table 2 - Other Rates and Allowances, of Part B, Monetary Rates, and

 

Only for the period of time when -

 

(a) Staff are working on structures that are primed with lead based paint and

 

(b) Performing any of the tasks listed below:

 

Abrading by hand or mechanical means.

 

Dry or wet blasting inside containment.

 

Grit recovery inside containment.

 

Bagging and packaging lead contaminated waste.

 

Cleaning filters and/or performing internal maintenance on dust extractors.

 

Setting up, operating and decommissioning the grit blaster (when using recycled materials), dust extractor and grit recovery unit.

 

Erecting previously used containment sheeting.

 

Removing and disposing of containment sheeting.

 

Flame cutting or welding on the structure.

 

Decontaminating and removing materials and equipment from within the confines of the containment.

Bagging and un-bagging of lead contaminated personal protection equipment and.

 

(c) Fully comply with OH&S management plans and/or safe systems or work.

 

3.          Delete the definition "High risk tasks Sydney Harbour Bridge maintenance " appearing in Appendix C - Glossary of Terms.

 

4.          Delete 5.2.2(a) High Risk Money - Sydney Harbour Bridge Maintenance Staff of Table 2 - Other Rate and Allowances and insert in lieu thereof the following:
